Meet Google Buzz:

image thumb32 Yet another way to socialize

Buzz integrates Twitter, and Facebook type functionality into Gmail.  With 176 million Gmail users, that makes Buzz potentially a big player in the social web.

Will it catch on?  I don’t know. Maybe. Facebook e-mail sucks, mainly because it sucks, and also because it can’t reach outside Facebook.

I’m on Facebook but I only check it when somebody tells me (verbally or by e-mail), I’m just not that social I guess.  So I guess I’ll get “Buzz” by being on Gmail, but I doubt I’ll use it.

Another pest! I already have a book full of user names, passwords and times to change them or else. Buzz is just another bee, fly or insect that keeps bothering me, probably to sneak more ads onto
my computer. All the time I use is paid for every month so any time Buzz wants me to spend “socializing”, they should pay me. If they don’t want to do that they should start charging for gmail.

That’s one of the benefits.. you already have Gmail, so now you have Buzz.
I’m sure you can turn the Buzz off if you don’t want it.

“Turn off buzz” is at bottom of gmail page.
