We were promised a “surge” in air marshal coverage after the “fruit of the boom” idiot. Now comes reports that 4 passengers on a flight from Amsterdam to Detroit were unruly… and no air marshal:
A Delta Airlines spokeswoman says the crew of a Northwest Airlines flight has requested that authorities meet the plane as it landed in Detroit because four passengers did not follow their instructions.
Were these Nigerian muslims? Or were they on strike over wanting to keep their blankets the last hour of the flight? Big difference and I wish Delta would tell us. I’d also like to know why we don’t have air marshals on all flights from Amsterdam, at least until we have confidence in their security system again.

Air marshals must have been one of those classes of federal jobs with no political constituency and therefore subject to budget cuts to satisfy the shrink-government crowd. Would you like to propose a dime-a-person tax increase for a dedicated trust fund to operate the marshal service?

How about we start with cutting congressional junkets to failed climate summits? Then let’s cut down on the “Rainbow Tours” by our president.
Quit thinking of a new tax and figure out ways to CUT spending and prioritize.

Commenter Carl… you like to put stupid words in the mouths of shrink the government folks, but if you ask us shrink the government folks you will find us quite supportive of air marshals and eager to find the budget for it in NPRs dole.
