New York Governor David Patterson picked Congresswoman Kirsten Gillibrand to Hilary Clinton’s Senate seat.
At first glance, not a bad pick. She is NRA approved (with an awesome 100% rating), voted against T.A.R.P. She’s even skeptical of gay marriage.
Of course, another way to look at her is that she did what she had to do when running in a Republican district. Now that she gets all of liberal New York, can we expect her to reveal her “inner liberal” self?
Time will tell. She is a career politician. This appears to have been her career path since youth. Given her penchant for promotion, Arlen Specter and John McCain may have somebody to partner with on bad ideas.
Update: Looks like gay marriage got thrown under the bus now that she is Senator. What did that take? An hour? Maybe guns will take a day or two.
