Trouble in paradise?
Romantic Comedy’s set up unrealistic expectations and angst:
“The problem is that while most of us know that the idea of a perfect relationship is unrealistic, some of us are still more influenced by media portrayals than we realise.”
Or so says an Edinburgh, Scotland university.
Movies like Notting Hill, 4 Funerals and a Wedding, Must Love Dogs, & You’ve Got Mail squawk TROUBLE.
Which would have my marriage in the tank, since all these and many more “rom-coms” haunt my DVD storage…. But since my marriage is all about romance (!) that surely implies I’m already exceeding:
unrealistic expectations when it comes to love.
Just a thought…. hey, do we have any Butter Blast popcorn left??

Maybe Mrs. Nelson realized early on that her expectations of romance were unrealistic and adjusted her expectations.
