IMHO Anybody texting while driving is unsafe. And I don’t think that inexperienced drivers should use the cell phone while driving.
Gizmodo gives hope with the DriveAssistT that puts your cell phone into “not taking calls” mode while the phone is moving at driving speeds. Good idea! Cell phone makers should put “I’m going to fast, get back to me” in as a standard option.
Texting while driving… I don’t think so!
In my “dream” mode, it would detect complicated driving and decide to take a message. On the highway, just cruising, no problem… call me. And if moving it would never let me text.
