An Obama administration panel is looking at the Housing interest deduction and the Childs Tax Credit because they “cost the government” over a trillion a year.
It makes no sense to me to have a housing interest deduction, or a tax credit for kids, or any of the other zillion other things in our HUGE tax code.
Considering, though, that the tax burden in this country for those that pay any taxes is shamefully high, shouldn’t a “deficit” panel focus entirely on government spending?
SPENDING is the problem. and TAXES are TOO HIGH.
Now if you want to talk about 50% of the country not contributing, by all means go RIGHT AHEAD.

We have a class of people in power who can’t conceive of the fact that spending costs money. They also appear to be incapable of paying the very taxes they demand of us. Those taxes are our, “patriotic duty” according to those douche-bags.

With luck we can turn the tide on Tuesday, but a lot of house cleaning remains…

Have we heard any electable politicians advocating less tax for the rich and more tax for the poor, while stripping society of government functions? That way the rich who would have an even higher share of the wealth can support society by paying menial wages for servants? And to whom would they sell the goods and services that made them rich and support the economy? Oh, right, according to the theory, everyone would be better off with a high inequality index as a free competitive market thrived? The bad news is that free competitive markets do not exist and a lack of government regulation would drive the markets to effective monopolies by agreement among the suppliers. No thanks, our ancestors have been down that road already.

When did you become a class warfare socialist? I don’t care who has how much money as long as they EARNED it.
I don’t like the road my ancestors, your age bracket btw, put us on.

We already have a high inequality index as far as taxes go. I think everyone except left wing democrats are getting a little tired of the evil rich mantra they keep spouting.
Barry O keeps talking about evil corporations stealing the election. It turns out 3 of the top five donors are unions, and we know who they are backing.
