What I WISH George Bush sounded like
What do all Republican candidates for President since Reagan have in common? Come on… think it through. I’ll give you their names… George Bush, Bob Dole, George Walker Bush, John McCain.
White? Yep. But not what I had in mind.
Old? Nope. Bush II was young.
Give up?
They are all HORRIBLE communicators.
Current Bush is the worst. I cannot stand to see him talk or give a speech. Bob Dole spoke of himself in 3rd person. John McCain said “my friends” every sentence. And Bush Elder wasn’t capable of eloquence.
Fortunately for us, the first 3 Democratic opponents sucked at communicating too. The Democrats finally said “to hell with this”. We are going with an orator, an inexperienced one, but he can talk up a storm. They won.
This country is fundamentally conservative. Sure, more and more people hop in the wagon all the time. And I don’t know if free elections can survive 4 or 8 years of Obama/Democratic corruption.
But I know what I’m looking for in the next Republican candidate. Speaking chops. Somebody who can explain, thrill and persuade.
Maybe Sarah Palin is what we need, but she kind of bothered me too in some of her speeches. And she is easily caricatured.
The field is open. Good talkers only need apply.
