According to the NY Post the movie “Green Zone” slanders America and our troops.
"Green Zone" isn’t cinema. It’s slander. It will go down in history as one of the most egregiously anti-American movies ever released by a major studio.
So I think I’ll skip it.
When will a Band of Brothers or Sands of Iwo Jima be made for this generation of heroes?
It sucks that Hollywood and our political class hate us so.
BTW: Is it an accident the last patriotic war movie Damon was in was during the Clinton Presidency? They only love America if they are in charge of it.

Good rule of thumb: Avoid Sean Penn and Matt Damon movies period. That means no more Bourne movies.

Are we to judge films by the politics of the performers?

In this case both the film and the actors politics stink.

To #3: That is one of my criteria. There are actors that I cannot disassociate their public actions with the role they are playing. It works both ways. Since I believe in their right to free speech, I have the right to not support their career when they say and do things I think are stupid and harmful. I also have the right to see a movie that may be horrible, but I really like the actor.

When an actor essentially typecast himslef as a political activist of the most vile sort, its hard to separate them from their roles. I also choose not to enrich them, I add Clooney to the list.

Anybody seen “Hurt Locker”? The director dolly had some nice things to say about the troops while Babs the Nose boiled behind her at the Oscars.

I’ll watch it on HBO in a couple months. I’ll DVR it so we have it around when you are visiting next.
