Congress has zero accountability. The only solutions that I can come up with to address this are term limits and flat taxes. If the American people don’t put the reigns on these people by limiting the power of longevity and limiting their ability to tax us to death, we are doomed.

Amen Thomas. Send them home and don’t let the new people have unfettered access to our wallets. I would also add a lifetime cap of 10 years in ANY elected office. That total would be cumulative.
Clearly our current system of political recruiting doesn’t work. We used to have a system that gave the political kleptocrats a safe place to toil, but they figured out ways around the safeguards.

1. Rain is a noun or verb and refers to the water that drops from the sky.
2. Reign as a noun means the period during which one occupies the throne; royal rule; dominating power. As a verb, reign means to rule or to possess supreme power over something or someone.
3. Rein as a noun refers to a leather strap fastened on to a horse’s bridle and used to control the horse. As a verb, to rein means to check or guide a horse using the reins.
