DHLawrence 03 Quotation of the Day
But better die than live mechanically a life that is a repetition of repetitions.

- D.H. Lawrence

I don’t pick a quotation every day. I just wait to post one that hits what I’m thinking about.  In this case, I’ve been worrying a lot that the government seems to think that there is no purpose in life other than sustaining it, eating, crapping and dying.

I don’t subscribe to the view that wealth is the purpose of life. I believe, instead, that (excluding spiritual matters) life is more about family, learning, and achieving. Wealth enables.  Time and money equate. When government takes money from me they take my time – the only finite thing I have.  They take, from me, time I could use to achieve my purpose.

And that bothers me… a lot.

A bad government also robs you of justice, the one thing that guarantees human survival above family values many of which can be weird in the extreme.
