Nov 18

We’d like a mulligan Barry

If only it were true… that we could elect a President, find him a dismal failure, and vote to not keep him the next Nov.

That would be nice. Jimmy Carter would have not been a one termer, but a one “year”er.  I’m pretty sure Barack Obama would be in that failure category too:

The poll asked: If the presidential election were held next month, would you vote to re-elect President Obama or would it be time for someone new in the White House?

The poll showed only 43 percent of Americans who voted in the 2008 presidential election say they would vote to re-elect Obama – a reduction by 10 percent in the votes Obama received on election day last year.

So my list of constitutional changes grows….

  • no 16th amendment
  • no 17th amendment
  • President must be reaffirmed after one year or his opponent takes over.

But alas, I know we can’t change our Constitution. Our system is too corrupt now to engage in such activity.  The Constitutional mulligan will have to wait for post-collapse and/or post revolution Constitutional writing.
