Chiseled jaw, speaks from the stomach, votes for big government (yawn)
I’m seeing a lot of hype for Scott Brown, candidate for Ted Kennedy’s old seat in Massachusetts. I think hmmm, that would be nice, to replace Ted Kennedy with somebody decent.
And Mr. Brown does seem better than dead Ted. But…. I didn’t donate.
Why? Well, he is a career politician – having been in elected office since 1992. And he is a lawyer. Don’t we have enough career politician lawyers in D.C.?
He has to be better than Ted Kennedy, but his voting record is one of spending and big government, including the medical socialism experiment called RomneyCare. In other words… just another politician saying/doing to help the career.
Nothing to write home about.
Or to donate money too.
Is this the Tea Party in me splitting the vote…? Probably. But… MA Republicans could have picked somebody truly different. Somebody inspiring, not connected or entrenched.
So the primaries matter. And they are coming up. So the Tea Party folks better own the primaries, cause if the Republicans offer up a bunch of careerists like McCain and Brown then the Democrats are not going to get the punishment they so richly deserve.

So describe your ideal Senator candidate who represents the electorate, has relevant experience in public administration and law making, and has no career in politics. Would ignorance be a virtue? Do you think government should be operated as a business?

I don’t mind a modest amount of elected experience, but not since 1992. That= careerist.
I’m trying to avoid people who have had their way of thinking warped by playing with other people’s money for so long.

I liked this Crockett quotation:
We have the right as individuals to give away as much of our own money as we please in charity; but as members of Congress we have no right to appropriate a dollar of the public money.
