What if  a simple, cheap, and safe bike bridge lifted bikers past dangerous roads and intersections?   The system uses a simple cable system to support a v-groove the bike rides in:

Clever!

OK, as long as everything is working. Cheaper than the usual pedestrian bridge. What’s the recovery scheme when the bike or rider fails? Is this meant just to connect to bike trails; if the biker is on a crossing road, why not just cross with the normal traffic? ?

If the municipality wants to spend the money for such a bridge, why not expand to a pedestrian bridge that would carry both bikes and walkers and disabled persons and pets, and might require less maintenance attention?

Does the Russian printing on the pics suggest any peculiar circumstances that might not fit well with Western traffic schemes?

I’m dubious of the merits economically because not enough people want to bike to work. I just thought it was clever.

I’ve seen bike lifts that you put your foot in and it pushes you and your bike up a steep hill in Europe.
