I spent an hour or so this morning tweaking a few blog settings and installing some helpful plugins. Improvements include:
- More understandable links – The old ones should work. The new ones
will be more related to the post, instead of just a number. - Comment editing – you can now edit your comments for up to 2 hours after you
post them. - Comment notification – if you comment you can now be notified of responses via e-mail.
- Search engine optimization. This doesn’t affect readers, but does help search
engines index KenNelson.Com - Related Posts – An automatically decided “Related Posts” will guide you to
my other writings related to that posting. - Post Notification – I’ve installed a system that will e-mail commenters two days after
notifying them of new posts. This can be opted out of, and is a one time only thing. - Typography upgrades – minor improvements to layouts and word spacing/font kerning.
- ThickBox for images…. images will be shown in a pop up dialog rather than a new window or tab. This may not work on all older posts, depending on how I inserted
the image.
