I’d like to thank the Car Dealers for their generous donations…

Jim Matheson’s website proudly proclaims:

“Congressman Jim Matheson today voted to transfer an additional $2 billion into the program from the federal economic recovery legislation passed earlier this year.:

I called his office to register a complaint and the nice fellow who answered said “but this wasn’t new money, it was a TRANSFER of already allocated money”.

My response was “a better TRANSFER would have been BACK to the TAXPAYER”.

Fiscal “conservatives”, which Matheson claims to be, don’t play monopoly money with the people’s funds.

Cash for Clunkers is stupid. If the model worked, we would all break our own windows and replace them. Matheson, a politician in waiting his whole life, doesn’t understand “opportunity cost” apparently.

Well, all I can say is that at least one group got their money out of their “Cash for a Clunker” – the Car Dealers Association, which donated $10 grand to Utah’s biggest clunker (Jim Matheson) in recent years.

$10K for $2 billion… SUCH A DEAL.

Buying Congressman must be fun.
