The Mac continues to make in-roads into the PC market, a testimony to clever marketing:

That’s up from just 9 percent in 2008, according to the latest "Household Penetration Study" from market research firm NPD.

The survey suggests that Mac use is on the rise. The study also found that 85 percent of Mac-using households also own Windows PCs.

I have a Mac I use for music studio recording. And I’ve bought Macs for my kids for years.

A Mac running Google Docs, Open Office or iLife works well for most any household.   The limited software choices can be offset by PC emulation, but that is pretty hard for the typical user.

My software engineers have started to choose the Mac as their primary development platform.

So the future bodes well for the Mac.  Note that as it increases in popularity, the Mac will be virused, spywared and hacked.

I cannot get used to the Mac that we use for homeschooling. The mouse navigation is bass ackwards and frustrating. I’ll stick with a good ol’ PC.

I’m with you. Plus Apple seems to be liberal, greenie weenies, so I’ll pass on helping them out.
