Some say our Congress represents us not just as representatives in a republic system, but also to other national attributes like ethics, morals, fiscal acuity.
I certainly don’t have a lot of respect for many American these days. You know, the ones that wear t-shirts with profanity in public, or that get up to speak at town hall meetings and clearly do not understand the intent and benefit of our founding principals.
But one thing I can say about Americans is that over the last couple years we learned our lesson. We cut back and re-prioritized our spending to focus on our needs not our wants.
So, I wonder, when will our Congress do the same?
As a small, or large example, is now really a good time to start spending trillions on a public health care takeover?
The House health care bill unveiled Thursday clocks in at 1,990 pages and about 400,000 words. With an estimated 10-year cost of $894 billion, that comes out to about $2.24 million per word.
When will Congress learn its lesson? I think it will take replacing them to teach them the lesson.
BTW: At Congressional prices this post is worth $447 million.
