So my Dad finally checks out the new “KenNelson.com”…. he e-mails full of concern that I’m just a “repeater of negative partisan half-truths”.

He’s a hardcore, but likeable, liberal who still thinks the Swift Boat Veterans For Truth were lying, so I’m used to notes like that.  He also considers himself  “middle of the road”, which caused me to snort last time he wrote that.  But hey,  I like him still.

But I did figure this was a good opportunity to clarify what goes on KenNelson.com and what doesn’t.

First off, most (all?) political posts will be disqualifying information. I generally do not write anything good about a candidate (from any party).   If you want reasons TO vote FOR somebody, look elsewhere.    As I peruse the web, if I encounter information about a candidate that DISQUALIFIES them from the position they seek, I’ll post it.  Not just bad stuff, but REALLY BAD stuff.

For instance, I’ve covered a lot of bad things about Obama, including:

  • support and active involvement with voter fraud
  • fraudulent fund raising
  • long term association with anti-Americans, Communists, Marxist, or terrorists (or all of the above)
  • membership in a socialist political party
  • general and blatant lying about past statements and actions
  • support for genocidal Marxists abroad

Gosh… do you want a President involved in any of that, no matter how much you dig one or another policy of his?   I don’t.  If a Libertarian or Republican did it, I’d disown them.

A lot of DQ’s on Obama, but I’ve also had this disqualifying (in my mind) about McCain:

  • he’s a political idiot
  • he isn’t “brave” as I define it
  • his immigration policies stink
  • he was wrong to vote for the bailout

Sorry that there is more to disqualify Obama, but note that I’ve also said (repeatedly) that we have horrible choices this year.  I’ve even proposed changes to our electoral system to give us better choices in the future.

Oh… and if I think something is “half-true” I don’t write about it.

Ive been viewing your web site since it went up- he just got here? I had a good chuckle as well over the “middle of the road” label. I haven’t seen any half-truths here. The info on Barry O is well-documented. Not liking it doesn’t make it not true.

Regarding Dupont Circle: Its e-mailer is also slightly haughty and pseudo-elitist. That is accentuated by the closeness to power. It is ingrained.

Regarding Sen. McCain: His character is Navy officer, compartmented and ruthless about the ship (country) enough to doom those behind the flood doors.

Regarding Sen. Obama: He’s a simple fraud and touts in disguise his brand of Hobbes’ philosophy with the skills of a snake oil or used car salesman. Most of the nation’s elite are fooled or like the
    ideas for their nefarious purposes.

“According to Hobbes, society is a population beneath a sovereign authority, to whom all individuals in that society cede their natural rights for the sake of protection. Any abuses of power by this authority are to be accepted as the price of peace. However, he also states that in severe cases of abuse, rebellion is expected. In particular, the doctrine of separation of powers is rejected: the sovereign must control civil, military, judicial and ecclesiastical powers.” – Wikipedia

Regarding Gov. Palin: She represents reform and Calvinism with its work ethic but not his total church-state separation, but neither did the founding fathers.

Regarding Sen. Biden: “Old Joe” makes a great kibbitzer.
