What a pleasure it is to speak at this year’s “How to fool the electorate” conference
Jim Matheson claims to be a “fiscal conservative” and a “blue dog” Democrat. So how often do you think he votes with his political party?

Surprised? Go down his list of votes. He votes with his party virtually every time.
Now, if we lived in Vermont, or Santa Monica, we’d be darned lucky to have a Representative somewhat less liberal than Lenin. But Southern Utah is CONSERVATIVE.
And… I’d submit… darned gullible to be fooled by Jim Matheson for a decade.
With luck that will change in 2010, but frankly, I don’t have high hopes. I meet lots of people and Matheson still has them fooled.
