A teacher at a school in Massachusetts that recently had a school shooting writes into the Boston Globe:

Although this removes potential hostages and makes it nearly impossible for the shooter to acquire preselected targets, it unfairly rewards resourceful children who move to safety off-site more shrewdly and efficiently than others.

Uhmmm… so let me get this right. You are SO interested in fairness that being equally at risk of getting shot matters to you?  A valid procedure that reduces the casualties in a school shooting should not be done because it rewards resourceful children?

Oh… and how about this jewel:

But as a progressive, I would sooner lay my child to rest than succumb to the belief that the use of a gun for self-defense is somehow not in itself a gun crime.

His silly ideals are more important than his child. But he probably doesn’t have a child, so he is quite happy to play roulette with yours.

Wonder who he voted for??

Assuming the piece wasn’t intended to be satire, who wants this guy in charge of their child’s safety for even one minute? He’d probably use the children as a shield justifying that he’s more valuable to society as a high-minded, well-educated, enlightened individual. Society hasn’t invested as much into these children as it has into him.

He’s consistent with the progressive point of view that a child’s life isn’t valuable but rather an admirable sacrifice to a progressive society.

To a statist/socialist/communist children aren’t unique individuals, they are just dough for the cookie cutter. It is more important to them that every one be “equal” or rather identical than use their abilities to the highest potential. The “crime” of self defense can only be considered such if the life of the victim has lesser or equal value to the life of the criminal who attacks them.

I for one, do not value the lives of those who attack innocents and I would trade the lives of every murderer in the world to save one innocent child’s life.
