Arnie wants $8 billion more so he can continue wasting money on a bloated state bureaucracy:
If Washington does not provide roughly $8 billion in new aid for the state, the governor threatens to severely cut back — if not eliminate — CalWORKS, the state’s main welfare program; the In-Home Health Care Services program for the disabled and elderly poor, and two tax breaks for large corporations recently approved by the Legislature, the officials said.
Go ahead. Why threaten us with what we want?
Throw us in that briar patch strongman. Go ahead!
Something called “CalWorks” that benefits people that DON’T WORK says I won’t miss it.
Sayonara! Need any more ideas for things you can threaten to cut?

California is a dumping ground for too many of life’s failures and the nicer weather of SoCal makes the pile way too large here. County government is the place to stop the flow of riff raff that arrives every fall or when the economy tanks. CalWORKS should be zeroed out of the state budget. Local governments need only pass the “broke” list to the county for action to eject, deport, or accommodate as needy. Persons and families who are long term residents on hard times wouldn’t take an enormous sum or bureaucracy for temporary relief.

“whatever it is, I’m agin it.” Hurry, be first in line to eliminate any program that doesn’t pay you anything even if you’re not quite sure what it actually does and what its effect is on the state. There is no end to the arguments about where and how poverty relief should be funded and managed: federal, state, county, and town.

No, there is what you say, and what everybody else says.
