How? One possibility…. 5 of the 6 are right to work states (meaning you don’t have to join a union to have a job). That also means that unions aren’t that strong and don’t force bad economic decisions on the states employers through their political power.
Utah is also a right to work state…. and it has lost jobs but not very many.
Union towns feast and famine in cycles where the famine is much harder than the feast was pleasant. Ultimately, like a cancer, they also kill their host. Union members will profess to want what is best for their kids and grandkids, but exactly what opportunities have they left them after their self-centered decades of greed?
