More early voting news from the invaluable Campaign Spot:
The guy doing the exit poll of those who have already voted, with 7,147 responses, puts Obama ahead, 50 percent to 48 percent.
The problem for Obama is that the vote was overwhelmingly Democrats:
In Clark County, "through Sunday, 55 percent of early voters were Democrats, 29 percent Republicans."
"In Washoe County, 51 percent of the early voters through Sunday were Democrats, while 33 percent were Republicans."
Campaign Spot’s theory is that with many more Republicans left to vote, and Obama with just a 2% lead after have 22% more Democratic voters having voted, he can only go downhill from here. In other words, call the state for McCain and put another notch in the arrow of those who thought the polls were very off this year.
