I don't think it would be very susceptible to analysis because their locations are so extremely different from one another. But I believe it true that glaciers have been retreating for thousands of years. It is hard to get concerned about inches when they've retreated steadily and over hundreds of miles in some cases over thousands of years without modern humans around.
