Viruses beware… Dr. Awesome is on the case.
Touch screens combined with accelerometers are a new dimension of user input that cool tools/toys like the Wii and iPhone have popularized. And clever software folks are putting them to novel uses.
Example… Dr. Awesome Microsurgeon M.D. lets you conduct surgery – with a twist. It populates your patient list from your iPhone contact database. Clever! See it played here.
If I were starting a software company now I’d look hard at the iPhone / cell phone market and try to come up with some indispensible app I could sell to a few zillion people for $5 bucks a pop.
So what can you do with a GPS, internet connection, touch screen and accelerometer?

Build yourself a shooting range with GPS for approximate distance, internet for hit detection and feedback to display result, and accelerometer for collecting shooter physiological data. Target sensors downrange extra.
