It seems like an ATV that is covered. But that works for me. For driving around town, where I know its just me and I don’t need to pick up plywood or anything, this would be just fine. And at $600, I could get a couple and be well ahead on gas.

All the do-gooders who think your safety is their business would never allow it

Don’t try and interject logic into it. They know what’s best for you

Yeah, silly me.
the car unions wouldn’t permit it anyway.

$600 is pretty cheap. However, would that be because it does not have an engine or other propulsion system. or brakes. Notice there are no foot pedals on the floor. How do you drive it? Maybe thats why its safe, it never leaves the driveway.
If its like other VW small cars, its probably make out of lightweight cardboard and will “total” if brushed by a bicycle. I had a Beetle when you were small. I skimmed a lincoln backing out. Not even paint mark on the lincoln, completely caved in the back fender of the VW. Cheap is cheap for a very good reason.

I presume the controls are on the steering wheel, like an ATV.

This is more like a $23k car – you couldn’t make the seats on this for $600…

Not in the US, or Germany, anyway.
Maybe…. with automation, perhaps it could be done.
