Location: Cooper Creek Campground, Branson, MO
My last post ended with a picture of the kids building a smoker. Brian had read about doing this in the Army Survival Field Manual (FM-21-76). It recommends using a poncho. Instead they used tinfoil:
and three hours later we pulled it open and revealed a wonderfully smoked trout. I took a picture, but neglected to notice the card wasn’t in the camera. This is what was left when I had the card in it:
Today was a lazy day. We got up late and mainly spent the morning lounging around reading:
The Amazon Kindles they use are really good for RV’ing. They take up no space. And when a book is finished, just order up another using its free CDMA connection. Slick! And the books are cheaper too. Recommended!
Then we got a little energy and decided to head into town to the “Tracks” fun center. For those of you familiar with St. George, think Family Fun center on steroids…. First off a few laps on the Woody go-cart track:
Quite a bit of fun! The kids really liked it so they went right back on. I elected to pass since I was suffering from an impact on the 3rd lap. Another rider, an adult who shan’t be named, didn’t follow this sign:
I ended up with what I suspect is a mild concussion. Easy for me to get, but I was done for the day.
They, however, weren’t so it was on to more racing on another track:
and spending the remaining credits we’d purchased in the arcade:
Notice the car she picked….
Then off to lunch and then back to Cooper Creek RV park for a lazy afternoon. Well, for three of us. Paula did laundry. It was “free fishing” day in MO, so me and the kids fished til dusk. This is our haul:
Then a tasty trout dinner from yesterday’s catch, a close game of Pictionary (the boys won!) and off to bed for our early start in the A.M.
Day 6 pictures start here.

In defense of the unnamed adult, we were all rushed on to the cars and didn’t get a chance to read the rules. So yeah, she went all Kyle Busch. Also, it wasn’t deliberate (yet), but Ken should watch his back.

I did a little bit more than laundry. The RV got cleaned, vacuumed, rearranged, and dinner cooked (fried potatoes and onions, fried trout, fresh baked bread).

Hmmmm…fried potatoes and onions…and fresh baked bread…two or my favorites!
There’s always housekeeping Mother…and the other family members never really know what goes on behind the scenes!

Love the photo the left-over fish. I always needed more bones…
Fun stuff…
LOL.
(By the way I am a friend of Paula back in the day (high school)..)
