Starting Saturday and through Jan 19 or later:
Tighter credit markets are keeping would-be buyers away from their showrooms, Chrysler says. Dealers are unable to close sales for buyers due to a lack of financing, and estimate that 20 to 25 percent of their volume has been lost due to the credit situation.
When I read this I thought, well good – that is the kind of thinking that they need to survive.
Then I read this:
On the bright side, Chrysler plant workers will have a really, really long Christmas break at 95% pay, which can’t be too horrible.
Sigh…

I’d like a month off at 95 % pay. Although with the OT I work it would be a bigger hit than that. I heard about this and wondered why the UAW wasn’t screaming- now I know.

I don’t know why we would send bailout money to basically sponsor time off.
