An Anderson, IN Pizza Hut delivery guy capped an armed robber on Christmas Eve:
The report said Simmons pointed a .25 Raven Arms semi-automatic handgun at the store’s cashier and demanded money. The cashier loaded about $720 into a small bag.
According to the report, Shaker gave Simmons a verbal warning but Simmons “lifted and swung his gun up towards” Shaker. Shaker fired one round from his personal 9mm Kel-Tec, hitting Simmons in the back of his head, the report said.
Excellent! One robber stopped. And no pizzas harmed.
In general, I don’t recommend defending other people’s money. But, that said, I’d probably have done the same. Only a .45 ACP headache cannot be solved with aspirin!

It all sounds good except for the shot in the back of the head part. Bad guy points gun at victim, victim shoots bad guy in back of head? How is this possible? But he doesn’t kill him?! Something is fishy. But we can’t rule out sloppy reporting, especially when it comes to anything gun related.
If this were on CSI:Vegas, Grissom would have it figured out pretty easily.

Agreed. I don’t know how a 9mm to the any part of the head doesn’t blow it off from hydrostatic shock. Bad reporting.

Actually, it is possible. If the bad guy is standing facing away from you at say, a 90 degree or larger angle he spins his head towards a sound, not necessarily his body. That act of looking at something behind you leaves your head at an angle to the target, even as you swing the rest of your body into motion to bring your gun to bear. Then, all it takes is a grazing round to the back of the head to knock him out.
The delivery man should have double tapped center mass, though.

Pizza hut should have their guys shoot USPSA or IDPA.
