I suppose if you look about Washington, or any set of politicians, hypocrisy will be in full and frequent view.  But this one is close to home, in my state and by a person claiming to be in my profession (computer software) and of a similar political philosophy.

Let’s start with Brad Daw’s political definition of himself (from his website):

I believe in limited government, low taxes, property and gun ownership rights, freedom of religion, and families as the core of any stable society.

And apple pie and other good stuff.

Now lets see what Mr. Daw is up to now that he managed to be elected:

HB150, sponsored by Rep. Brad Daw, R-Orem, would grant prosecutors the ability to obtain an administrative subpoena, compelling Internet and phone companies to turn over the names, addresses, phone numbers, and bank information of customers using an Internet address or cell phone number at a given time.

So how is this law limited government Mr. Daw?   The law covers “suspected” felonies, but it also says a judge isn’t involved. So the police or the DA decides who is a “suspect” and who can be searched in your new limited government world Brad?

Look, Brad, I know that the internet and all that “free” information (and pictures and movies) scares you authority types.  And maybe you lie awake in a cold sweat worried that some kid is going to see or learn something not approved of by your faith.   But being personally scared isn’t a call to blatantly violate everybody elses’  4th amendment.  That “freedom of religion” thing you claim to believe in, means not forcing yours on everybody else.

What if 2nd Amendment opponents used your tortured 4th amendment logic?  You’d scream like a banshee – well it’s that sort of thinking that earns you a rare 2nd Hypocrite of the Day award.

One other thing, Brad…  as a 2nd Hypocrite of the Day, I’m really tired of seeing hypocrisy, so it is your unfortunate duty to have a nasty fall today – you’ve earned it.

I agree with Mr. Daws about most things. It pains me to issue this directive to stumble, but hey, I don’t want to be a hypocrite!

Scott Brown wasted $15 billion dollars of money we just printed so that he could say:

"I hope my vote today is a strong step toward restoring bipartisanship in Washington," he said in a statement.

I knew he would be a weenie but I hope he could at least pretend not to be for more than a couple weeks.

For today’s vote… the first of many expensive, Scott Brown oriented votes, he deserves a very nasty fall:

Obama open to tax hikes on those earning less than $250K.

Of course he was lying.

But wouldn’t it be better if he CUT SPENDING??

He is lying scum that is hell bent on helping just those that vote or donate to him. He isn’t President for all of us. He is a narcissistic sociopath causing irrevocable damage. If you voted for him you should be ashamed of yourself for being stupid, gullible, or anti-American – or the case of some I know – all three!

You’ve earned the right to a nasty fall today Barry. Make it a doozy!

image thumb77 Compromise? image thumb78 Compromise?
We know what they are, now we are just deciding the price

Some, and you know who you are, regale us with tales of how our laws are built from compromise in the forge of representative Democracy.

Others, me for instance, believe compromise requires what is compromised on be of the same kind of thing.   As in, I like Red, you like Blue, so we compromise on Purple – it is still color. Or you like Burger King, I like McDonalds, we go to Carls Jr. – we are still talking burgers.

Compromise is not I’ll do this for you if you do this for me. That is trading or exchange.

So when Ben Nelson or Mary Landrieu gets a basket of bribes for their state – that isn’t compromise it is as Winston Churchill said…. “We’ve already established what you are, now we are haggling over price”.

If Ben Nelson or Mary Landrieu had strong beliefs on health care reform, as say  Bernie Sanders does about single payer,  then I could stomach what they have done.  Sure I’d never vote for Bernie Sanders, but at least he isn’t out offering his vote to the highest bidder.

It isn’t how they voted, but HOW they came to decide their vote, that reeks.

I hope Nelson’s next two years in the Senate are marked by misery from the catcalling and shunning Nebraska residents should give him.  And I hope Landrieu, after her 2010 crushing, has to leave the state because people spit on her all the time.  Isn’t that what political whores deserve?

image thumb4 Nasty Fall: George H. W. Bush

George H. W. Bush inflicted David Souter on us. David Souter, traitorous liar to the end, waited a couple extra months to retire so that a facsocialist (1/2 fascist 1/2 socialist) could pick his replacement.

That’s right… .George H. W. Bush… I hope you have a nasty fall today. You’ve earned it.
