Don’t voodoo me!

Liberals constantly make decisions from “the heart” that end up stopping other people’s hearts.  A recent example is President Obama’s decision to permit Haitians here illegally to stay. Just as America’s liberal stance on illegal immigration has sucked Mexico’s hard workers, north, Haiti’s best and brightest have moved here too.

Vox Day feels similarly:

If Haiti needs anything from the United States, it is the 30,000 Haitians who are presently in the United States illegally, and thanks to the Obama administration, will now be permitted to stay another 18 months. Since the Haitian diaspora is made up of Haiti’s most entrepreneurial and productive individuals, Haiti is far more in need of them now than ever. Both the U.S. and Haiti would be much better off if those 30,000 Haitians were given government contracts to return to Haiti and help rebuild it than remaining in the U.S. and adding to the 10 percent unemployment rate.

This may seem cold hearted, and it is, but in a tough love sort of way.  How can Haiti ever fend for itself if most of its talent is here?

This principal applies to many things liberals do “from the heart”. From welfare, to “spreading the wealth”, to pacifistic diplomacy, their “best intentions” doom billions.

The subject, of course, paraphrases this famous passage:

But as with most things Obama, he manages to screw up a good idea. Instead, he lifts a ban on immigration of those with HIV/AIDS.

Send us your sick, your poor huddled masses yearning for insurance of pre-existing conditions.

Obama can, with chin held high, eloquently proclaim a new US moral superiority by spending OTHER people’s money and putting OTHER people at risk.

May he have a bad blood transfusion.

Jeffrey Goldberg asks Bruce Schneir, his security guru, that question… I’m sympathetic to the answer:

I want President Obama to get on national television and project indomitability. I want him to dial back the hyperbole, and remind us that our society can’t be terrorized. I want him to roll back all the fear-based post-9/11 security measures.  We’d do much better by leveraging the inherent strengths of our modern democracies and the natural advantages we have over the terrorists: our adaptability and survivability, our international network of laws and law enforcement, and the freedoms and liberties that make our society so enviable. The way we live is open enough to make terrorists rare; we are observant enough to prevent most of the terrorist plots that exist, and indomitable enough to survive the even fewer terrorist plots that actually succeed. We don’t need to pretend otherwise.

I agree. BUT I’d put in place very stringent immigration and entry restrictions from Muslim countries.  Terrorists plotting from afar can be handled as he says above. A large, internal, Muslim population, providing haven and a place to hide wouldn’t be a good idea.

We CAN and SHOULD deny entry and immigration to cultures and individuals that put us at risk.  Muslims certainly fall into the “dangerous” category.  Individually they may be fine people, but in mass, their culture represents a danger to America.

President Obama wants new Democratic voters. Illegal ones will do just fine:

President Obama said this week that his health care plan won’t cover illegal immigrants, but argued that’s all the more reason to legalize them and ensure they eventually do get coverage.

The Presidents policies are so easy to predict. If it is good for Democrats, he wants it. If it is good for unions, he wants it. If it is good for Barack Obama, he wants it.

Where do the rest of us stand? Here is a hint:

Based on our analysis of Census Bureau data, we estimate that there are 6.6 million uninsured illegal immigrants in the United States who could be covered by the new health care reform bill (HR 3200). Even though HR 3200 states that illegal immigrants are not eligible for the proposed taxpayer-funded affordable premium credits, there is nothing in the bill to enforce this. An amendment was defeated in committee that would have required the use of the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) program, used by almost all other means-tested programs of this kind.

It is like the border, Social Security, employment fraud, and Medicaid…  the left talks good on illegals but doesn’t back it up with enforcement.

In this case, they actually explicitly voted down SAVE which is used on 71 other means tested federal programs.  So don’t look at what they SAY, look at what the other hand is NOT doing.

I’ve got an idea… let’s keep this religion out? What do you say?

What? Why would you say that?  This is why:

Dozens of cars have been smashed, 14 people injured and 46 arrested in riots by Muslim migrants over the alleged defacing of a Koran by a policeman.

Hmmm… let’s see. Our own government has funded putting crucifix in urine as “art” and Christians, while vociferously complaining, didn’t riot or hurt anybody.  Note that most didn’t even complain the artist couldn’t do it, just that the government shouldn’t fund it.

Islamic people cause trouble wherever they accumulate in mass. I want no part of it.

I doubt I have any Muslim readers, but if you are, well… sorry, but that’s just the way it is. I’d suggest it would be better to yell at the Muslims who behead and riot than at me for being the messenger delivering the “you scare us” memo. 

So my view is…

• Muslims should not be permitted to immigrate here.
• Muslim students should not be permitted to study here.
• Non-citizen Muslims should be invited to leave.

Now as to home grown Muslims…. like the 4 arrested a couple days ago for attempting to blow up a Synagogue… They are “citizens” but I don’t think it out of the question to deem particular mosques unreasonable threats and shut them down. As the saying goes, the Constitution isn’t  a suicide pact.

All cases in the US are tied to visitors to Mexico. Shouldn’t we inspect and/or prevent people from coming into this country from Mexico? 

Instead I’m regaled with tales of people here illegally bringing in relatives to escape the threat in Mexico, when all they are really doing is bringing it here.

Whether it be TB from Mexico, or a swine flu, it isn’t safe to let their citizens run amok here.

US medical authorities expressed strong concern Friday about an unprecedented multi-strain swine flu outbreak that has killed at least 60 people in Mexico and infected seven people in the United States.

Janet…. are you listening. In a perfect world Democratic politicians wouldn’t get the illegal’s votes, just  their diseases.

Sometime between telling Muslims they are an awesome faith, bowing to the King of Saudi Arabia, and attempting to put in place warrantless wiretaps on all American citizens,  The One decided he hasn’t done nearly enough to damage our country in 3 mere months. Not NEARLY enough. It was time to step up the pace, to catch the wave, get a groove.

So he promised to try and get amnesty for illegal aliens.

Just by re-opening the legalization issue, without passing any new law, Obama has already encouraged foreigners who aren’t supposed to be here to come and compete for the few jobs that are left, bidding down wages in the process. What better way to encourage more illegal immigration than by promising a possible amnesty in the next few years?

Nice going Barry. And I thought you were running out of bad ideas. I should have known you are a bottomless well of bad ideas for America.

Have you noticed that EVERYTHING Obama and the Democrats have passed or want to pass increases their power?  Stimulus – pork to Democrat constinuencies.  GM bailou, extra kind to UAW.   Bank laws – they can run banks into the ground.  Warrentless wiretaps against American’s not terrorists. Just to name a few…

Does that concern you?  Buyer’s remorse yet?

 
I think not…

As of June 1, 2009, everybody visiting Canada needs a passport. This includes even good honest non-terroristic Americans driving around to see the other side of Niagara Falls.

This, of course, is stupid, over-reaction.  The government lets anybody come in from Mexico, but makes it hard to visit Canada on a day trip.

We had thought we might make a run from Niagara Falls across Canada to Detroit on part of our expected summer tour of America.  But I guess not now.

That plus gun regulations means I’ve got to say “Sorry Canada”.

First Jihadist strike on American soil

Islamic jihadists bombed the World Trade Center 16 years ago today.

What followed was 8 years of treating such attacks as a “crime” problem. After 9/11/2001 the fight against Islamic terrorists, properly, moved into the “war” department.

But alas, with Obama and his Clinton re-treads, it is back in the Department of Justice’s hands, which means we can expect a few more arrests, worthless trials, and lots more attacks.

Some innocents are going to die because liberals refuse to fight our side of a war we didn’t start and that will escalate until one side finishes it with WMDs.

Less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking our crops, but 29% are on welfare. Over 70% of the United States ‘ annual population growth (and over 90% of California , Florida , and New York ) results from immigration.  29% of inmates in federal prisons are illegal aliens.
