Domesticated enemy?
The opening sentences of the US Military officers oath:
I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend
the Constitution of the United States against all enemies,
foreign and domestic
The military plans to have 20,000 troops stationed inside the US that are trained to help state and local officials respond to nuclear and other domestic catastrophes.
Naturally civil liberty kooks who actually don’t want us to remain free “have concerns”. Even the AWESOME Cato Institute has trouble with this:
Domestic emergency deployment may be "just the first example of a series of expansions in presidential and military authority," or even an increase in domestic surveillance, said Anna Christensen of the ACLU’s National Security Project. And Cato Vice President Gene Healy warned of "a creeping militarization" of homeland security.
I’m not worried about nukes, or earthquakes, or even getting trampled on Black Friday. Our biggest threat is Barney Frank and other socialistic politicians like him. Folks who cost us more than two bit dictators with oil cost us.
What can these troops do for that domestic threat?
Before you go all crazy, I’m just half kidding. Half. But… I do wonder why we bother fighting abroad (which I generally agree with) while we let Barney Frank and his ilk do more damage than a 2-bit Muslim dictator could ever hope to do?

Not to worry. Obama is going to give back all the illegal power the evil Bush assumed and go back to using the Constitution that Bush tore up and spat on. He wont let anything bad happen.
