Here is handy list of waiting times for common surgeries if you want them for “free” from England’s taxpayer funded National Health Service. Take London for example:

I’ll remind you that “average” means some folks had to wait LONGER than this. The site is marketing material for private insurance.

I had one of these surgeries. I could have had it done in a couple days but I elected to wait a couple weeks. I also got access to a very talented US trained doctor. I’d been to see a less talented US trained doctor but I had CHOICE in the matter and I switched to the more competent fellow.
