Ruth Ginsberg is dangerous:

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg defended the use of foreign law by American judges,

We have plenty of our own laws Ginsberg.  And if we don’t have what you need you invent something anyway.

So just shut up. If you have to ruin this country, just shut up while you do it.

She is one of Bubba’s biggest mistakes. We have all payed the price for his quest to use quotas to fill open seats on the courts.

Love those sound bites! What a shame that the bloggers here must not have read Liptak’s piece to put US legal reference to foreign laws and judicial opinions in context.

It is true that any law outside the jurisdiction of the case is legally merely a fact. But judicial reasoning and universal values are something that every judge needs to recognize wherever they might be found.

It is amazing to me that you will actually defend a judge using another country’s laws, or even their values. What arrogance and misplaced confidence.

I suspect her legal reasoning is wrong in this case; it usually is. I was speaking to the bigger point that when you lower standards to fill quotas, you get judges like her.
