The City Council of Detroit goes bravely on record as wanting $10 billion of the bailout money :
Council President Pro Tem JoAnn Watson sponsored the resolution to use the money for public service employment, to fund mass transit plans and to place a moratorium on home foreclosures for two years.
Cool… I can send money to Detroit so people there don’t have to pay their mortgages. and so they can jet around in awesome public transportation while I stay late at work to send them that money.
As in murder rates Detroit is determined to be 1st:
“The city of Detroit has got to be leading the way on this.”

Obama Bemoans ‘Epidemic of Violence’ Forbes
Nearly three dozen Chicago students have been killed this year, according to Chicago Public Schools. Obama said that figure is higher than the number of Illinois serviceman who’ve died in Iraq in 2007.
