University of Minnesota student Max Specktor probably did something wrong as he planned to make Republicans unwelcome in St. Paul. But not terrorism. But he was arrested and charged under a new anti-terrorism statute and possibly faces 8 years in jail.

Like the drug war, our war on “terror” seems to be having a lot of unintended consequences.
I don’t think it an accident that this happened in one the most liberal jurisdictions of the country. The use of governmental force to get what they want (in this case money from the Republican National Convention) comes easy to liberals in government. We saw a lot of power abuse from Denver’s (liberal) government at the DNC as well.
Give government an inch, they’ll take a mile.
