Not sure how they would show a Kenyan with marble…
My wife and I caught a show on Air Force One over the weekend. Fascinating. I’d love to travel that way. The effort the crew puts into ensuring safety, comfort and timeliness is impressive.
But what really caught our attention was at the end of the show, when as is tradition, the new President elect is picked up and brought to Washington by Air Force One and the new commander of Air Force One (which changes every Presidential term).
President-elect Obama bounded up the stairs, was introduced to the Colonel now commanding Air Force One. His first words “wow – you look like you came right out of central casting”. No questions or thanks for his obvious decades of service and excellence. No questions about was there anything he should know to be a better passenger, just glib comments.
Everything about this man is image, puffery, show.
Any plane the President travels on is Air Force One. But with this President, it should be “Air Force Me’”
BTW: The film was interesting, but the video of the Air Force One security team practicing their shooting had my son and I rolling. They were AWFUL. Weird stances, odd grips, one guy even seemed to be grabbing his forearm with this weak hand not the grip of the pistol.

I saw that show a while back when it was first on. I, too, was annoyed by his glib comments, as well as his shameless pandering to the black purser. I thought they were going to do some sort of black power secret handshake.
Once again, on Memorial Day, we have a democrat president who, while not as active in dodging military service as Clinton, simply was too busy to be bothered.
It bothers me that a lowly 1st Lt in the Army Reserves ( me) has way more military experience than the Commander in Chief.

Obama’s small talk was insulting. Here is an Air Force Colonel who had accomplished more and shouldered more responsibility than Obama ever had to date, and the best chit chat he could offer was “You look like Sam Shepard in ‘The Right Stuff’.
Try that kind of “compliment” on an accomplished woman and liberals will hand you your you know what’s skewered and cooked.

Try “you look like Julia Roberts in ‘Pretty Woman’ on a liberal chick and see what you get. Although so far, Obama hasn’t picked anyone worth looking at. If he had to pick a female Latina, he could have at least picked a hottie. Penelope Cruz is available and is probably at least as good a pick.

A Kenyan in marble is shown like an “Indian” , to wit Crazy Horse. Way off in the woods, preferably with a bag of the same that he
lost early on.
