I don’t understand unions for actors. It seems… uncreative. Anyway, the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) is talking strike now. More specifically they are talking up educating me as to why they should strike.
Apparently, studio use of non-union actors who work in deals that don’t pay residuals is the show stopper.
But again, I don’t understand, why have a union for a job that people would do for free?
And why strike when business is down and the public thinks that maybe actors should just suck it up like the rest of us?
