image thumb110 ACE Inhibitor cuts risk of dementia

FuturePundit delivers this good news about an ACE inhibitor I take daily:

Research suggests that some of the drugs classified as angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, specifically those types of ACE inhibitors that affect the brain by crossing the blood-brain barrier, may reduce inflammation that could contribute to the development of Alzheimer’s disease, a major cause of dementia.

Since my pituitary busted last year, I’ve had to take an exotic coctail of drugs and shots each day to keep my body chemistry in kilter.  A centrally acting ACE inhibitor called ramipril (Altace) is in the AM section of my AM/PM pillbox.

When it comes to me and dementia, any help is welcome!
