I just thought Ted Kennedy was a drunk and murderer. Is offering quid pro quo with Soviet dictators, if they lent the Democrats a hand beating Reagan, traitorous? You decide.
Kennedy’s message was simple. He proposed an unabashed quid pro quo. Kennedy would lend Andropov a hand in dealing with President Reagan. In return, the Soviet leader would lend the Democratic Party a hand in challenging Reagan in the 1984 presidential election. "The only real potential threats to Reagan are problems of war and peace and Soviet-American relations," the memorandum stated. "These issues, according to the senator, will without a doubt become the most important of the election campaign."
I really do not understand people that think this guy did anything good for America, or that he ever had anything but the Kennedy legacy, a stiff drink and pretty blonde on his mind.

He was scum. The accolades pouring in are sickening. The guy had no redeeming values that I can see. He was the definition of excess in all its negative connotations, in just about any area you can think of.
Now we get to hear about the next generation of Kennedys that will try and feed at the trough. That might work in MA but I think the rest of the country was done with this disgusting family years ago. Their act wore thin a long time ago.
