I don’t follow polls that closely, but I did want to comment on one today.
Rasmussen’s new poll has Obama at just 44% approval:
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 24% of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-two percent (42%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -18.
But at the bottom was this statistic:
The President earns approval from 37% of White voters and 98% of African-American voters.
White voters afraid to say they don’t like a black guy must bump up the white approval count. And Black voters unwilling to admit the black guy sucks must artificially raise the black approval count. How much lower? I don’t know. Maybe mid 30’s? Those are Bush being bashed by the media while having trouble in Iraq numbers.
And IMHO they are too high – he deserves scorn and disdain for his first months in office, not approval.
