image thumb156 401(k) way better than FICA

Since 1986, I’ve paid approximately $400,000 into the Social Security fund.  I would much rather have had that grow to $1.5 million in my 401(k) and then drop to $750,000 in the last few months, then to have seen it wasted by my government as they have indeed done.   Now I’m out $400,000, and my 401(k) that I was able to save up independently is worth 1/2, and facing higher taxes as a member of the productive part of our society.

The button says it all.

Normally, if somebody robbed me of $400K, I’d kill them.  As tempting as that is, I’ll defer, at least until a few hundred thousand other people glom on to how bad they’ve been ripped off and want to join the effort.
