I was eager to stop binging. I felt crappy most of yesterday. Bloated, tired, hungry, and a bit nauseous.

We had a pistol match today and forgot to weigh in this morning. I imagine it was up. How could it not be after the donuts, pizza and spaghetti from yesterday.

I whipped up this hearty breakfast for my son and I:

4 parts egg whites, 1 part egg whites, mixed in with grilled pork chop and turkey left overs.  Black beans and sauerkraut.  Tasty!

Then we drove to Vegas for an all day pistol match. Lunch would be spent on the range. We stopped and got almonds as a “hold over” til we were done. I ate those at 12, and then we had a late “lunch” at Island Burgers at about 4.

Island Burgers is a tough 4 Hour Body location, mainly because most things come with a bun. But buried in the back I found a dish I could modify to good effect:

Rotisserie Chicken with refried beans (added as a side) and salsa. I skipped the sour cream.  I ate til full, but didn’t finish it.

We drove home, and about 8:30 I mixed up a medley of canned chicken, mushrooms, and broccoli stir fried in macadamia nut oil. Tasty, although, I overdid the soy sauce. Next time…

I’ve done this routine many times, leave early, all day on the range, late lunch, drive home. And I’ve never felt better through it than with long term energy provided by the slow sugar release provided by the 4 Hour Body diet.

Good luck, Ken. But I didn’t do well on Tim’s plan. I gained weight on the binge days and lost nothing during the weeks. After three weeks and 9 lbs. heavier I wrote it off. After going back to just eating whatever I felt like the weight I gained on 4HB seems to be slowing going away, and am down 2 lbs. from the high note (but still up 7 lbs. from the begining of December).

I also had severe digestive issues from all of the beans. It started with gas but got progressively worse.

Brock – darn, sorry you had poor results.

Were you strict? I’ve not had any gas, or any other odd side effects, other than losing weight and feeling better.

I’ve been crazy strict, following the diet and other methods to a ‘T’ (including cinnamon in my coffee, ice cold showers, grapefruit juice before binge meal) but am experiencing a lot of pain and bloating from the gas/beans. I also started by losing 5 pounds which I gained back on cheat day and still haven’t lost (1 week later).

I have been using beano and gas-x to absolutely no effect. I am really considering just doing WW (which seems a lot simpler to me, especially after all this cramping).

Hi Rachel – Every body is different, and some may not like the heavy legumes approach this diet uses. If anything my gas has decreased on this diet. We bought beano, but hadn’t had cause to use it.

WW has a slow carb variant that seems reasonable. Good luck with whatever route you choose!
