Golisano told a gathering of Rochester business executives that he will remain as owner of the Buffalo hockey team, but he is fleeing the Empire State to avoid paying $13,000 a day in state income taxes (MP: Almost $5 million per year).

    Having lost three tries at election for Governor that cost him $93M and donated over $50M to worthy causes in the State, he now finds the longstanding high New York tax rate too high for his taste. The Florida weather also must have some appeal over the Rochester weather to a 67-year old guy with plenty of money.
